Assignment 4 Instructions:

• Due: Check your Workbook Supplement for the due date as due dates vary according to cohort.

• Write two goals using the SMART goal strategies. Include a resource needed to meet the goal, a barrier you may face in reaching the goal, a solution to getting over the barrier, and your first THREE action steps.

Goal #1:

Your first goal is a professional development goal you set for yourself to improve or enhance your work, related to one of the DSP II competencies. When coming up with an idea, ask yourself: "where do I want to improve at my job," "what's a new skill I would like to learn for my work," or "what is something I want to learn more about related to my work?" Make sure your goal is specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. Make sure to include a resource, a barrier, a solution to the barrier, and your first three action steps. The goal should be achievable within 2 months.

Goal #2:

Your second goal is for the person you support.  This goal should be developed WITH the person you support, is something they actually want to accomplish, and is in line with their person-centered plan. Make sure your goal is specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. Make sure to include a resource, a barrier, a solution to the barrier, and your first three action steps. The goal should be achievable within 2 months.
