FLSM - Problem Solving Fundamentals
FLSM - Guide to Having Difficult Conversations
- Core Learning Team Assignment 2:
- Think about a person with IDD on your caseload, on your team, in the house you manage, or in your program area—someone you think could be more independent (and less dependent on their DSPs) if linked to natural supports, assistive technology, or other community resources.
- 1.) Describe your observations about the way the person relies too heavily on their DSPs.
- 2.) Describe the natural supports, assistive technology or other resource that could help the person be more independent and connected to their community. For example, Mary does not want an overnight staff in her apartment. The DSP must be there to administer Mary's morning medication. Mary thinks she could take her own medication if only she had reminders.
- Please print out your page and bring to class to share with your CLT for discussion.
